National Day

Luxembourg City is the capital and the centre of urban life in the Grand Duchy. A lively bar and restaurant scene with international cuisine is nestled among historic and contemporary cultural sites and architectural landmarks. Three different travel plans invite you to discover the city in distinctive ways. The average duration is 3-4 days, and visitors can benefit from the short distances within the city as well as to the other regions of the country, which can be reached in about one hour.

Friday 21 to Sunday 23 June 2019 (3 days, 2 nights)

On the weekend of the Luxembourg National Day (23 June), Luxembourg is transformed into the ultimate party destination. The Music Day (Fête de la Musique) festivities culminate on 21 June with live music all over the city, and street parties pick up the following evening for the National Day celebrations, including a spectacular firework display and a traditional parade in the presence of the Grand Ducal family. For several weeks over the summer, the city bustles with a special energy: outdoor concerts in squares and parks, open-air cinemas and markets create a Mediterranean atmosphere and a cosmopolitan flair on every corner. Discovering local gastronomy highlights and other exciting places such as the casemates and the UNESCO World Heritage sites are also on the programme.
