Luxembourg shines as a tourist destination in Berlin

From March 7 to 11, 2018, Luxembourg will participate at ITB Berlin, the world’s leading tourism trade fair. In collaboration with the key tourism players of the country, the national agency Luxembourg for Tourism will present the touristic diversity of the country at a 150 m2 stand. The Secretary of State of the Economy, Francine Closener, will visit the stand on March 7, 2018.

Luxembourg, the only Grand Duchy in the world, is characterized by its rich tourism offer. The proximity of the capital to the five tourist regions represents an undeniable advantage for visitors, allowing them to combine several themes: city break, culture, historical and industrial heritage, family holidays, but also hiking, road and mountain bike tours — activities in which Luxembourg is carving out a name for itself.

About 170,000 visitors are expected to attend, both industry insiders and the general public, who will have the opportunity to discover the considerable tourist offer that has emerged and developed in recent years catered for these different themes.

Gastronomy – an experience at the heart of the destination

Naturally, winetourism and gastronomy are an essential part of any stay in Luxembourg. The wines and crémants of the Moselle region, prolific award winners in international competitions, are everyday pleasures throughout the country. A selection of them will be available at “Moselbar” (Moselle bar) at the Luxembourg stand.

While Luxembourg has the highest number of Michelin-starred restaurants per capita in the world, there is also burgeoning interest in Luxembourg specialities reinterpreted by talented chefs. The county’s culinary savoir-faire will be showcased at the “Villeroy & Boch Culinary World Cup” in the framework of Expogast to be held from November 24 to 28, 2018. This culinary event will involve more than 105 teams, 2600 chefs and pastry chefs from 5 continents, ranking it among the leading international competitions.

Discover the destination in complete tranquility

Ease of access, a safe environment, an exceptional quality of life, multilingualism and open-mindness are intrinsic to everyday life in Luxembourg and conducive to complete tranquillity during a visit. According to the German magazine GEO, Luxembourg City is the second best metropolis in the world for a relaxing break.

The best way to discover the capital, its old quarters and casemates (underground walks), a UNESCO World Heritage site, is during a themed visit by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office. New infrastructures (tram, funicular railway, panoramic lift…) are an invitation to explore the city via unexplored itineraries and the use of new technologies reflects the city’s aspiration to become even more attractive.

High-quality services in every sense

Located in the middle of a natural park in the Luxembourg Ardennes, Éislek, is the town of Clervaux, another tourist destination particularly popular with culture and outdoor enthusiasts. The three establishments of Excellence Hotels offer different types of stays; among them the Golf & Country Hotel aimed not only at golfers, but also at nature and outdoor lovers.
