85 international congress and event organisers to attend Meet Luxembourg 12-14 September

85 international congress and event planners will attend Meet Luxembourg from 12-14 September 2018, organised by Luxembourg for Tourism and Cluster MICE to promote and develop congress tourism.

Attendees from Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, as well as from further afield including the USA, will network with 44 Luxembourg MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, & Events) exhibitors at a B2B fair at Luxexpo The Box on 13 September, with a welcome address by Francine Closener, Secretary of State for Economy.

The three-day programme will ensure that attendees sample the prime event locations of the Grand Duchy, including a tour of Luxembourg City, the Bock Casemates and Neimënster Abbey, and trips to see the unspoilt nature of Mullerthal, the picturesque wine region of the Moselle, and the regenerated industrial heritage of the Red Rock Region.

Participants will also have the opportunity to visit Luxembourg’s most iconic castles, including Bourglinster Castle, the city of Clervaux and a farewell lunch at the national monument and four-star hotel Château d’Urspelt.

Exhibitors at the B2B fair include the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) and the Philharmonie, in addition to a number of hotel chains, gourmet cuisine suppliers, local tourist offices and transport companies. Together they will showcase the many MICE qualities available in Luxembourg, from modern conference centres and excellent international accessibility, to river cruises, castles, thermal baths and spectacular scenery.

“Promoting Luxembourg as a MICE destination is central to our global strategy and the programme has been carefully prepared to showcase the variety of event assets, suitable for all corporate budgets,” says Patrick Hoffnung, chairman of Cluster MICE, adding: “Given that tourism made a total contribution of 6,5% to Luxembourg’s GDP in 2017, it’s also a priority for the Government in their plans to diversify our economy.”

Organiser Luxembourg for Tourism is responsible for promoting tourism at both an international and domestic level. Its subsidiary, Cluster MICE, focuses on improving the service offer and the customer journey of event organisers.
